What we collect
When you use Applyr's free ATS checker, an account, or the Chrome extension, we collect: the content of resumes and job descriptions you upload or paste, your email address, and standard request metadata (IP address, browser user agent). If you use the free ATS checker without an account, unlocking your full result requires an email address — that email, along with your resume content and result, is stored so we can send you the result and, if you don't unsubscribe, occasional tips about the full product.
Consent for the free ATS checker
Before we email you your ATS check result, we show you this exact consent language and require you to leave it checked to continue: "I agree that Applyr can use my resume content and email to send me my results and occasional tips about the full portal. I can unsubscribe anytime." You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time using the link in any email we send, or by contacting us directly (below).
AI processing
Resume and job description content you submit is sent to OpenAI's API to calculate ATS compatibility scores, extract keywords, and generate rewritten resume content. This is done to provide the service you requested; OpenAI processes this content as a data processor on our behalf and does not use it to train their models under our API terms with them.
Chrome extension
The Applyr Chrome extension reads job posting content on pages you're actively viewing (e.g. LinkedIn, Greenhouse, Workday job listings) so it can score your resume against that specific posting, and can autofill application forms using information from your resume when you choose to use SmartFill. It does not read or transmit content from pages unrelated to job applications.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your account data and resume content for as long as your account is active. You can delete your master resume or your account entirely from your dashboard settings at any time. Free ATS checker leads (for people who don't create an account) are retained to honor the consent given at capture time, and can be deleted on request.
